I am excited to introduce my new blog “Organically Yours by Ingrid”. Several years ago I caught the hives and both my primary doctor and a specialist couldn’t determine from my blood work what was causing the hives, but begun to medicate me for the symptoms. The medication resulted in not only making my condition worse in less that 2 months I gain 65 pounds from the steroids in the medication and my lab results showed that, although I was other healthy, the medication was effecting my liver and kidneys. I quickly sought a third opinion that included a more holitic approach to my treatment. I immediately started a full body herbal detox and begun using organic Calendula Oil on my skin instead of the prescribed medicated creams. In three days you could no longer see the hives that were all over my body and the effects on my liver and kidneys were in reverse with no permanent damage. This was the start of my journey of getting back to the basics of paying attention to my body, allowing my body to be the healing vessel it can be with if I stop pumping it with to many synthetic or chemical based products, to many meds that had overwhelming side effects, processed foods and unnatural sweeteners, etc. This experience was the start of my research and passion for finding was to naturally allow my body to operate at maximum potential. Not eliminating the good that doctors can bring to our lives, but instead first making better choices at what i do to and put in my body as the first line of defense and preventative care. I basically when back to what worked for generations before that we have gotten away from in the hustle and bustle of prosperity, too busy lives and lack of daily balance. I went back to things like my grandmother did daily until the day she passed at 94 years old. I started taking apple cider vinegar (with the mother) daily, I stopped using unnatural products to sweeten my foods, I started taking the time to read labels and make healthier choices of foods and balancing my intake. I changed my perspective to a more “back to the garden of Eden” approach. My grandmother, great aunts and uncles weren’t running to the doctors for every little thing—if it was broken, fractured, bleeding profusely, called for surgery, etc., they went to the garden or their mother’s natural remedies that were passed down from generations. They didn’t pop pills constantly for every thing that ails you. It wasn’t that my grandmother for example didn’t eat fast food, she simply didn’t eat it every day and she ate more naturally than she did unnaturally. She didn’t over eat processed foods. She ate fresh veggies often and didn’t run to low fat/no fat products. She did everything in moderation with a more natural way of life being the dominant choice. I do understand that even I have gotten overwhelmed with all the organic food and product choices that are not all truly organic or completely natural.
It’s for that reason that I’m launching this new blog to provide reviews that help breakdown (decipher) and promote what is truly organic/all natural in this big world of foods and products to chose from. The more educated and aware of the truths in what we are putting in and on our bodies that better we can become the experts of our own bodies that are unique and respond to things very differently. That’s why one weight loss program for example can work drastically for one and do nothing for another. Think of my as your “Organic Connoisseur”. I will share with your tips, teaching and helpful videos, recipes, my research findings, healthy and organic products a services promotions and more! All designed to suggest and help you in the process of making better choices that positively impact your body, mind and spirit and those you know and love. Together we will rejuvenate ourselves, rediscover the power of God’s plans and all he created organically for us to live simply a natural and authentic lifestyle.
Organically Yours,
Ingrid
