Black History Month has never been just about the past for me. Yes, we honor the giants. Yes, we remember the marches, the movements, the milestones. Yes, we speak the names and tell the stories. But as I reflect—both as a woman and as a professional who has lived, built, failed, risen, and rebuilt again—I’ve come to understand something deeper… History, Black history is still being written. Not just by people with microphones, pulpits, or platforms. It’s still being written BY YOU! History Didn’t Stop—It Shifted Hands. I’ve learned through experience that legacy doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like consistency. Sometimes it looks like obedience when nobody’s watching. Sometimes it looks like choosing faith over fear when hiding would be easier.

As a Black woman navigating rooms I wasn’t always invited into—and creating rooms when none existed—I’ve seen firsthand how history evolves when ordinary people decide to answer an extraordinary call. Our ancestors didn’t always know their names would be remembered. They just knew they were called to stand, to build, to believe anyway. And that same call? It didn’t expire. This Is Your Moment: HIStory or HERstory! Here’s the shift I want you to feel this Black History Month: This isn’t just about honoring their courage. It’s about responding to God’s call on your life. Your HIStory. Your HERstory. Not someday…  Not when it feels safe… Not when everything is perfectly aligned. It’s Now! You don’t need permission to rise. You need belief.

If You’re Reading This, God Isn’t Finished With You

I don’t believe in coincidences. If you landed here, reading these words, it’s because something in you is stirring. A reminder. A nudge. A quiet voice saying, “There’s more.” Let me be clear and loving:

It’s still unfolding… Still loading… Still becoming. But you have to be willing to cross over—from fear into faith, from hiding into wholeness, from familiarity into freedom.

The Danger of Familiarity

Familiarity can feel like safety, but it often becomes a cage. It sounds like:

But history—real history—has never been made by people who waited until they felt ready. It’s made by people who believed God more than they believed their fear.

It’s Time To Believe Again!

Black History Month is an invitation. To believe again. To dream again. To trust again. To live again.
To love again—more boldly, more freely, more faithfully. Listen, you are not late. Trust you are not forgotten. Believe you are not disqualified. You are called.

Now This Is Your Call to Action

So here’s my challenge to you—heart to heart: Rise to your own occasion. Say yes to God’s assignment on your life. Stop shrinking. Stop hiding. Stop playing small with a purpose that was never meant to be silent. Your impact on history matters. Your voice matters. Your obedience matters. And the world doesn’t just need to remember Black history—it needs your contribution to it. If you’re ready to step into that next level of living and love… If you’re ready to design your life with intention and faith… If you’re ready to stop surviving and start becoming…
